Flora and Fauna of Darjeeling

Flora: Darjeeling, with its rich treasure of floral species, represents a combination of subtropical and temperate areas of West Bengal. With over 4000 species of flowering plants, 300 varieties of ferns and countless varieties of non-flowering plants, this place represents some of the richest floras of the world. Besides, a diverse range of mosses, fungi, algae, birches and orchids (wild and cultivated) are also found here.
