St. Stephen?s College is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning in our country. Founded in 1949, The Hiking Club of the college is the oldest institution of its kind in the country and is scarcely different in its commitment to excellence. For the last six decades it has blazed the trail of adventure sports with several firsts to its credit within the fields of mountaineering, hiking expeditions, climbing (artificial wall/natural rock) and mountain biking. Being one of the only colleges in the country which has a Sport Climbing Wall, we take great pride in hosting the St. Stephen?s Open Sport Climbing Competition, a national level competition where climbers of national repute gather to showcase their climbing skills. These two are the main events of the competition. 1) Speed Climbing Sponsorship: 2) Lead Climbing Sponsorship: The competition will be held on 6th, 7th, and 8th of february 2015 at St. Stephen's College wall in the college campus. I'm going to be in Leh from Sep to Jan and have been looking for rock climbing (not mountaineering guide, although they probably have the skills) guide. I'll be taking my own rope and sports gear but i don't have the skill or confidence to climb solo on unknown rock. I was wondering if anyone knew of a guide for climbing around leh. - Sharad
Rock climbing indoors is not quite the same thing as "solo climbing with no ropes"
