When I look back at my childhood days I realise that I never belonged to civilization. I was born wild and that's what I love, being outdoors. Coming from a defense background certainly helped me fulfilling my soul through adventures at a very young age on the sea side. I spent my childhood swimming in the seas of Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Goa. As I grew up, I became a fan of the mountains and solo travel. As life passed, I spent a few years in corporate jobs but never settled. Solo traveling gives me a high like meditation, and I realized that mountains are my first love. Post backpacking for a few years I wanted to see higher and bigger mountains and that is how I began trekking. An animal lover at heart, I get the highest adrenal rush from letting go of security, hence I love to go unsupported and face my fears. For the remaining bit of my life I wish to inspire people towards liberation of minds through endurance, and wining over themselves, and in the process conserve the ecosystem and bring smiles to all the stake holders.

Hello Tanya, had a query for you. We have two daughters 11 & 9, and am exploring taking them on the Har-Ki-dun trek. They have been on short 2 day treks to the GHNP and Chopta earlier. Wanted your opinion and guidance on whether the Har-Ki-Dun trek will be doable for kids of this age? Is it a safe trek to take kids/ girls? Also, is early June, with Monsoon on the horizon, a good time to go on this trek? Thanks, appreciate your inputs. - Suranjan Choudhury.
