Rohit is open-minded about his adventure pursuits - any chance he gets to go out with a few friends meets his "let's-do-it" threshold. For him the fun quotient is the driver of these pursuits and all else is academic. He has tried to balance his outdoor interests with a more conservative work life as an investment banker (and now a management consultant) with mixed results. Rohit has enjoyed mountaineering in the Himalayas, the Alps, and also in the US. His last climb to Mount Elbrus got him excited about the 'Seven Summits', which he is actively thinking about completing. Rohit has also run a few marathons and tries to run at least a few times every week - interestingly enough, he is unable to run for more than five minutes on a treadmill! A few months ago he completed his first triathlon, in Nepal, and is quite excited about getting a few more under his belt .
From: Mumbai, IndiaI started out at boarding school at the ripe old age of 6, and the outdoors was a big part of our lives. Cannot say I took to it straight away but the thrill of going out camping and climbing mountains certainly grew on me over the years. As time passed, hanging out with friends who loved the outdoors just got me doing more and more stuff. From learning to kayak in the 'pristine' waters near India Gate (and putting that experience to use on the Ganges) to climbing in the Alps with the finest of French wines tucked away in your pack, the experiences just got richer. Now I am hooked - marathons, triathlons, the 'Seven Summits', skiing, all are fair game .
