Answered: Dear Harpreet, It's perfectly o.k. with cycling for your fitness program. I suggest walking on some slopes if possible. I my self have ligament torn but, continuing to climb technical routes without much problem. I ask you to use some special kind of Kneecaps for the same after consultation with some orthopedic doctor. Everest base camp route is well marked and well maintained route. You shouldn't have any problem to participate.

Answered: Thank you Avinash for your interest. Everest Base Camp is a very popular trek destination which needs average fitness to trek for at least 6-8 hours a day for two weeks. If you are not too much overweight, find yourself jogging/running at least 30 minutes thrice a week, or on some cardio-vascular machine in Gym, it'll be enough for the time being. The challenge during that trek is to acclimatize well, which is easier if you are not getting dehydrated & tired quickly during those long walks. So the main theme of the practice would be ENDURANCE. So the 'Mantra' is not faster but LONGER. So try to slow jogging If possible in some some 30-40 degree inclined surface like stadium ramps. And increase the time weekly by 3 minutes. And if possible 5 days a week. Once you can achieve 45 minutes of CONTINUOUS slow jogging over a inclined surface. You are ready. You can alternate with cycling , jogging, swimming etc. If you don't have access of practice those, then just use the steps ups & down for 30 continuous minutes at most. I think that would be enough. With it add some stretching and some breathing exercise altogether 90 minutes work out. And don't be too hard in the beginning if you are not a regular.
