I first saw the snow capped peaks from Narkanda when I was just 14 years old and thought I must climb to the top of those peaks.  Within a few years I had done my Basic, Advance & Winter Alpine Mountaineering courses.  I started joining the expeditions with different clubs of Kolkata. Soon I found it is more interesting to and climb virgin peaks & routes and also started exploring the routes tried by legendary Mountaineers like Shipton,Tillman, Meade etc. I have explored several new trekking routes in the Himalayas like, Panpatia, Chaukhamba col etc.  I have taken part in more than 40 expeditions and climbed 28 peaks by new routes. I have traveled all over India by cycle (18,000 kms in 8 months).  I am a National Judge for Sport Climbing and hold a UIAA Trek Leader's Certification.
