Some of us are just happy with the way our life is, but a lot of us are sitting at our office desks, staring at the computer screens wondering, if this is the life we want! Are we doing what makes us happy? Are we taking out enough time to relax and rejuvenate? I am sure these questions pop into many of our heads as we really dream about setting off on the adventure of a lifetime!
I can’t stay for long without travelling! If it has been more than four weeks, I get restless and want to take a break and wander off to the Himalayas! Where I choose to go often depends on my mood. If I am in a mood to relax and rejuvenate, I would prefer going to Kerala or Goa than the mountains. To get solitude and some “Me” time, the Himalayas are what I need! I make it a point to travel to the Himalayas at least once in 2 months because living in Delhi is a blessing if you love Himalayas. I always try to find different ways of travelling to the mountains and explore the yet unexplored and remote villages and places. Trekking is one of my favorite adventure activities as it always shows me a different side of mountains! The best part about trekking is that I get a chance to be close to the mountains and I feel that I belong there!
The Himalayas have everything to offer to a traveller as well as adventure lover. Many activities like Paragliding, Rafting on the Ganges, Birding amidst the forests, Trekking, can be experienced in the Himalayas. Himalayas have everything you ever wished for, from absolute adrenaline rush to total peace and quiet, and that’s one of the reason I am in love with the Himalayas. Trekking is the best way to explore the deep and remote places in the Himalayas, and the second best is taking a motorbike expedition in Himalayas across the mountains. A biker would understand the freedom of riding through those scenic valleys, through the adventurous roads, and just you and your bike!
What if you get to live your dream, won’t you go for it? A motorbike expedition in the Himalayas along the Ganges, will definitely kick start your dream of riding a motorbike across the world, and what better way to start than this thrilling trip through the unexplored mountain roads of Uttarakhand! The new route that starts from Dehradun in Uttarakhand will take you through the villages and towns of Mori, Harsil, New Tehri, finally reaching Rishikesh over the course of 7 days!
A small rustic village on the way, Mori will be your first destination to stay overnight. With the amazing views of Dayara Bugyal and Himalayan Ranges you will reach your next destination, Harsil which is located at the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Wake up to a mesmerising sunrise here; I bet it will be one of the most splendid sunrises you have ever witnessed. Spend the day lazily sipping hot tea, visit the Temple and return to Harsil. Wander off on you own to explore the town. I believe it is a fantastic idea to visit some place in every few months where nobody knows your name. It is a thrilling experience to do so. As you continue your journey to Tehri Dam, you will observe that the old village of Tehri is submerged in the water of reservoir and the New Terhi Village came up when the Tehri Dam was made. Next day, ride on NH-94 to reach Rattapani in Rishikesh. A nature walk will be an awesome idea here, so just stroll around to get the best of nature! The most exciting part is that you end the trip with a fun filled rafting session on the Ganges! What else would an adventure lover need?
Ride along the River Ganga and visit one of the Char Dhams on Pilgrimage circuit in the Himalayas – Gangotri Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. I would have never imagined about travelling to Uttarkashi on a motorbike expedition until our Motorbike Guru Manish Chachra made it possible for everyone out there! The route is simply amazing, you will love the views of the Himalayas while you ride along the Ganga River, and it will surely give you moments of serenity!
Some of us just want to take out time from our busy work life, go on a break and spend some leisure time. On the other hand, some of us want to go on an adventure! Much talked about these days, adventure travel is an amazing way to explore the world! It lets you live life to the fullest, experience great adventures, explore the world like a hippie would do!
