Itinerary:
Day 01: Delhi to Jaipur (280 km/approx. 5 hours)
The Golden Triangle self drive safari with wildlife experience begins in Delhi, from where you move to Jaipur on National Highway 8. On reaching Jaipur, transfer to the hotel and check-in. After enjoying lunch, start a guided tour of some of the most prominent tourist attractions of the Pink City. The excursion first takes you to the royal City Palace. More like a complex than a building, it comprises Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and several courtyards and gardens.
The next destination for you is the fascinating Hawa Mahal. Besides marvelling at the amazing architecture of the monument, also see miniature paintings and some relics at the on-site museum. Afterwards, move to Jantar Mantar to gaze at one of the largest sundials in the world. The Jantar Mantar of Jaipur is one of the five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II; the others being in Delhi, Ujjain, Mathura and Varanasi.
From here, move to the local market for some souvenir shopping. The state and the city are known for their exquisite jewellery and handicrafts. Spend the evening enjoying a programme of folk dance and music. Thereafter, return to the hotel for a rejuvenating sleep.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Jaipur
Early morning, climb on the back of an elephant and ride to Amber Fort. The gigantic building-complex, sitting on top of a mountain above Maota Lake, makes for an exceptionally alluring sight. Stop touring for lunch, and afterwards travel to Jaigarh Fort. Also known as Victory Fort, this military structure was built to protect Amber Fort, and it features one of the largest cannons ever forged. Then, move to Chokhi Dhani to experience the hospitality and culture of Rajasthan. After this, come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Jaipur to Ranthambore (167 km/approx. 3.5 hours) | Evening Safari
Get ready to enjoy the naturalistic part of this Golden Triangle self drive safari with wildlife tour. After check-out, drive to Ranthambore National Park – the most renowned protected territory of Rajasthan. Ranthambore is spread over an area of approximately 392 sq km. Reach here by noon, and after checking-in at the hotel, enjoy an evening wildlife safari. With so many species of avifauna found in the area, it has also become a travel hotspot for birdwatchers. Day 04: Morning Safari | Optional Evening Safari
Take a morning safari to get up-close with tigers. It is also a great opportunity to see and learn about the diverse flora of the region. Post lunch, trek to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the area. An optional evening safari can be organised to make sure that your experience in is wonderful national park becomes complete. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 05: Ranthambore to Agra (240 km/approx. 5 hours)
In the morning, leave Ranthambore National Park, and start driving towards the city of Agra. Arrive here by noon, and thereafter check-in at the hotel. After a scrumptious lunch, embark on a guided tour of the local markets, and then return to the hotel for dinner. After dinner, enjoy an overnight stay in your rooms.
Day 06: Sightseeing in Agra
This morning, head to the marvellous Taj Mahal, accompanied by an expert guide. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, it features a shimmering white marble structure and intricate calligraphy. Also, explore Agra Fort and some other historical monuments near it. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 16th-century Agra Fort has numerous interesting buildings and structures like Delhi Gate, Amar Singh Gate, Hathi Po, Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and Moti Masjid. After the sightseeing tour, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 07: Agra to Delhi (240 km/4 hours)
Complete the Golden Triangle trip with a drive back to Delhi. The journey in itself is like a dream come true for the driving enthusiast inside you as you travel on the 165-km long, 6-lane Yamuna Expressway. The tour ends as you reach Delhi, whereupon you are free to travel to your next destination.
