ITINERARY:

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PARO | DRIVE TO THIMPHU (50 KM/1.25 HOURS)
Upon landing at Paro Airport, meet our travel agent and begin a road journey to Thimphu. Located about 7500 feet above sea level in the Eastern Himalayas, Thimphu is the capital of the Kingdom of Bhutan. The city is blessed with beautiful environs, a cool climate and loads of interesting places. Thimphu is the seat of the national government, and the centre of the culture and religion of the kingdom. On reaching the city, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 02: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel, and then embark on a sightseeing tour of the city. This Bhutan travel package includes visits to the BBS Tower, Motithang Takin Preserve, Buddha Dordenma statue, Changangkha Lhakhang, Tashichho Dzong, Handicrafts Emporium and Changlimithang Stadium.

Climb up to the top storey of the BBS Tower to see far and wide into the Thimphu Valley. See takin, the national animal, and various species of deer at Motithang Takin Preserve. Buddha Dordenma is a bronze statue of Lord Buddha that is about 169 feet high, while Changlimithang Stadium is the most significant sporting arena in the kingdom, and it hosts football and archery competitions.

In the afternoon, head towards Tashichho Dzong, which serves as the seat of the national government. After seeing it from outside, pay homage to the third Bhutanese King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, at the National Memorial Chorten. See beautiful cloth paintings and photos of monarchs at the site. Complete your day by shopping for locally-produced goods at the Handicrafts Emporium and other shops. Return to the hotel in the evening, and stay overnight in the Bhutanese capital.

DAY 03: THIMPHU TO PARO | SIGHTSEEING IN PARO
Check-out from the hotel in the morning, and travel to Paro by road. On arrival in the city, transfer to the hotel and rest for some time.

This package for Bhutan travel will take you to numerous captivating sites in the city. The tourist attractions to be visited today are Ta Dzong, Drukgyel Dzong, Rinpung Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Learn about the national history, religion and culture by exploring the six floors and various galleries of the National Museum of Bhutan, housed inside Ta Dzong. After walking through the museum, undertake a hiking expedition to Rinpung Dzong, and once here, see Buddhist shrines, stupas and the main assembly hall.

Drukgyel Dzong was built in 1649 for the sole purpose of protecting the Paro Valley from enemy attacks. Ruins of watchtowers, administrative buildings and stone walls can still be seen today at the site. Kyichu Lhakhang is a pagoda-style Buddhist Temple, built in the 7th century; making it one of the earliest religious sites in the country. There is also a white-stone stupa, topped by a golden conical spire, in front of the temple. Later, come back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.

DAY 04: PARO TO HAA VALLEY | HAA VALLEY TO PARO
Today, this Bhutan travel package includes a journey through the Eastern Himalayas to the enchanting valley of Haa. After driving through lush forests of rhododendrons and blue pines, reach Chele La – an approximately 13000-feet high mountain pass. From atop here, look at the summits of mounts Jitchu Drake and Chomolhari before making your way further towards Haa. Explore the valley and its natural beauty on reaching here, and in the evening, retrace your way to Paro. On reaching the city, head to the hotel and stay overnight.
