The word Goa instills in our mind the pictures of sun kissed beaches, with thrilling water sports, vibrant local markets , old world villages with its laid back people and picturesque landscape. Now you can add Whitewater Rafting to this list and experience it on your next trip to Goa.
Rafting takes place on Mhadei River for a stretch of 10 KM running through the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary nestled in the UNESCO world heritage site of the Western Ghats region. The best season for rafting in Goa is from July to September during monsoon when the river is overflowing with rainwater.
River Rafting on Mhadei River is a great activity for both beginners and seasoned professionals and offers class 2 and 3 rapids with names like Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy.
The trip includes transportation from the meeting place in Valpoi which is an hour drive away from the rafting location. There are two slot timing for rafting trips one in the morning at 10 AM and in the afternoon from 2 PM. It is one of the best ways to explore virgin Goan landscape still unexplored by many. If you want to tread the less trodden paths of Goa, our suggestion would be to include rafting activity in your next Goa holiday.
