A well-inclusive Bhutan tour package offers you an opportunity to travel through the kingdom and see its hordes of attractions. This 10-day venture will involve sightseeing, a minor trek, impressive road journeys and crossing scenic mountain passes. On arrival in Thimphu – the national capital – see prominent tourist attractions, and then cross Dochula on the way to Punakha/Wangdue. Here, see the sites that are included in the itinerary and some that are optional. The following dawn, travel by road to the region of Bumthang, which encompasses four beautiful valleys. On the way, stop at the tranquil town of Trongsa to see its famous places of interest.

In this tour package for Bhutan, visit the numerous religious sites, including monastic complexes and temples of Bumthang. Then, drive to Punakha/Wangdue via the picturesque Phobjikha Valley. After staying here at night, undertake a drive to the town of Paro the next morning. Embark on a mesmeric drive from the city to the scenic Haa Valley, and cross Chelela en route. After return to Paro, go on a tour to understand in detail about the country and its inhabitants. This town trip also includes a short trek from Ta Dzong to Rinpung Dzong through lush jungles of pine trees. Post sightseeing, transfer to the airport and end this wonderful Bhutanese expedition by catching a flight to India.

ITINERARY:

DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PARO | PARO TO THIMPHU
Upon landing at Paro Airport, meet our travel representative and thereafter drive to Thimphu. On reaching the city, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 02: SIGHTSEEING IN THIMPHU
Relish a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, and then begin the Bhutan tour package sightseeing venture. Stroll through the scenic blue pine forests of Motithang Takin Preserve, and see the numerous animals in their different moods. Treat your eyes to captivating views of the Thimphu Valley from the top floor of the BBS Tower. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, which contains large Buddhist texts and a huge statue of the 11-headed Avalokitesvara.

See the 169-feet gilded copper Buddha Dordenma statue, and head inside its meditation hall for some internal peace. Later, visit the multi-purpose Changlimithang Stadium, and learn about the sporting spirit of the locals. In the afternoon, travel to Tashichho Dzong that houses government offices and thrones. See photos of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third king of Bhutan, and paintings of numerous Buddhist deities at the National Memorial Chorten. Buy interesting handmade goods at the Handicrafts Emporium and local stores. Following this eventful tour, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 03: THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA/WANGDUE VIA DOCHULA PASS
Embark on a road journey to Punakha/Wangdue after obtaining the permit, necessary to enter it (not issued on Saturdays, Sundays and government holidays). On the way, stop at Dochula mountain pass to have tea and to capture the spellbinding views of snow-covered mountains.

After recommencing the journey from this approximately 10170-feet high pass, you may travel to the village of Mehsina and also visit Chimi Lhakhang. The latter place is said to be built atop a hill, which houses a caged demon.

On arrival at the destination, explore the courtyards of Punakha Dzong, and also see various exquisite stupas and temples at the site. Marvel at the sight of ornamental statues of Avalokitesvara, Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, Lord Buddha and 21 idols of Goddess Tara. Later, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 04: PUNAKHA/WANGDUE – TRONGSA – BUMTHANG
Begin a road journey to Bumthang in the morning with this tour package for Bhutan, and cross Pele La on the way. Ahead on the drive from this approximately 11150-feet high mountain pass, make a sightseeing halt at Trongsa. On reaching here, visit Trongsa Dzong – the largest such fortress in the entire country. Located on a thickly-forested mountain, it overlooks a deep river gorge. The fortification has many courtyards that have temples dedicated to various Arhats, Maitreya and Akshobhya.

Also in Trongsa, explore Chendebji Chorten, which is a Buddhist stupa bearing features of traditional Nepali architecture. It is surrounded by mountains that are laden with lush forests of towering blue pines. Later in the day, resume the journey to Bumthang, and on reaching here, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 05: SIGHTSEEING IN BUMTHANG
In the morning, embark on another leg of this Bhutan tour package sightseeing, and visit various sites in the Bumthang region. Explore the Tamshing Monastery that houses a number of temples, containing sculptures and paintings. Pictorial representation of Pema Lingpa, Padmasambhava, Arhats, Bodhisattvas, Goddess Tara, Amitabha, Avalokitesvara, Amitayus and lamas of the Nyingma sect of Vajrayana Buddhism are worth seeing here.

Also explore the courtyards and buildings of Jakar Dzong that feature richly painted woodwork on their white stone and brick structure. Thereafter, visit Kurjey Lhakhang, and see the numerous temples and stupas in its complex. Later, pay homage at Jambay Lhakhang, built in AD 659 by a Tibetan emperor, who is thought to have trapped a demoness at the site. Afterwards, come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 06: BUMTHANG TO PUNAKHA/WANGDUE VIA PHOBJIKHA VALLEY
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, travel by road to Punakha/Wangdue, crossing Phobjikha Valley en route. On arrival in Punakha/Wangdue in the evening, transfer to the hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 07: PUNAKHA/WANGDUE TO PARO
In the morning, undertake a road journey to Paro and on arrival, check-in at the hotel for staying overnight.

DAY 08: PARO TO HAA VALLEY VIA CHELELA PASS | HAA VALLEY TO PARO
Early in the morning, drive with this tour package for Bhutan to the enchanting valley of Haa. Reach atop Chelela, an approximately 13000-feet high mountain pass, after driving through forests of blue pines and rhododendrons. Look at spellbinding views of Mount Drake and Mount Chomolhari from atop the pass, and then restart the drive. After descending for around 22 km, reach Haa and after exploring it to the fullest, return to Paro for an overnight stay.

DAY 09: SIGHTSEEING IN PARO
Post breakfast at the hotel, head out to explore Paro. Examine the various artefacts of the National Museum of Bhutan that are exhibited within the central tower of Ta Dzong. From here, follow a mountainous trail on foot to reach Rinpung Dzong, which has a number of temples, stupas and a Bodhi tree.

Explore the ruining military fortress of Drukgyel Dzong and see its towers and other minor structures. Complete the town tour by paying homage at the old Kyichu Lhakhang, and see the small stupa in front of it. Thereafter, return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight.

DAY 10: DEPARTURE FROM PARO
Following breakfast, check-out from the hotel, and transfer to Paro Airport to board your flight back home.
