The north-western part of India, especially the state of Rajasthan, is covered by the vast Thar Desert. Expansive patches of sand, complemented by hills and thorny bushes, make this desert quite picturesque and ideal spot for camel caravan safari. A number of cities and towns in the state are great examples of its vibrant culture and glorious history. Among them, Bikaner is one such place that has been a popular holiday destination for decades. The best time to come here is in winters as the day temperature in summers is almost unbearable. The most-famed tourist attractions here are Junagarh Fort – known for its ornate palaces and temples – and Karni Mata Temple. A trip to this city is never complete without experiencing a camel caravan safari through the sandy wasteland that encompasses it.
Camels are remarkable animals and they truly are the ships of the deserts. With a camel caravan safari in Bikaner, you get to explore the desert on the backs of these animals or while sitting inside a tented trailer. Marudyan Resort is one of the many hospitality establishments in the city that arrange for this fun activity. It offers a range of amenities, services and facilities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Common facilities and services offered here include 24-hour front desk, concierge and attached bathrooms. The main building of the resort is built like a traditional Rajasthani haveli while the expansive garden on-site is a perfect place, where you can sit back and relax.
You can relish lip-smacking delicacies at the in-house restaurant and also go for a dip in the large swimming pool. Besides these, you may also ask the management to arrange for raptor safaris as the region is visited by numerous species of winged scavengers.
