The thick deciduous broad-leaf jungles of the Satpura Range provide dwelling to a large number of animals. Satpura National Park has an area of about 524 sq. metres, and the altitude here ranges from roughly 300 metres to approximately 1350 metres. The landforms here include deep ravines, hills, rivers, gorges, valleys, waterfalls, marches and grasslands. Several species of bamboo cover the slopes, and numerous other trees like mahua, tendu, jamun, teak and sal also grow here in abundance. On a jungle excursion organised by Denwa Backwater Escape Resort, you will also see hordes of species of shrubs, ferns and medicinal plants in this wildlife territory. While exploring the forests, try spotting tigers, gaurs, dholes, elephants, the 12-horned barahsingha deer and nilgais. How to Reach?
The national park is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh in Central India, and has good road connectivity to many significant cities and towns. Bhopal, about 137 km away, has the airport and railway station nearest to the site. The city can be reached easily by flights from Delhi and Mumbai, and by trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolonia and Jaipur. Bhopal Junction Railway Station is the starting and terminating spot of numerous important trains such as Shatabdi Express. Another significant railway junction is in the city of Jabalpur, which lies at an approximate distance of 228 km from the property. Pipariya can also be reached by trains from major Indian cities.
Season:
To see the rich biodiversity of the area, you should definitely come here in winters and summers. It stays open for tourists between October and June, and like most wildlife hotspots in the country, it too suspends operations during monsoons, which stretch from July to September. However, you can still stay at the resort, and enjoy a romantic rainy season.
