With an area of just about 3700 sq km, Goa is the smallest state in India. Though it is small in size, it does not lag behind in anything; be it natural splendour, adventure sports opportunities or culture. This is why it is among the most sought-after holiday destinations in India. The state has also gained this status owing to the numerous points of interest located here. The Goa State Museum, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church are some attractions you can explore. Apart from these, the 17th-century Fort Aguada is also worth a visit. It is famed as one of the largest and best preserved Portuguese bastions in the country.
An approximately 131-km long coastline bestows Goa with numerous serene beaches, where you can sit, relax and spend memorable time with your loved ones. Be it the district of North or South Goa, you can find a happening beach anywhere in the state. While Calangute, Anjuna, Morjim, Baga and Sinquerim are some well-known seafronts in the north, Palolem, Agonda, Varca, Mobor, Colva and Majorda are a few in the south. These shores are a hub for an array of adventure sports like snorkelling, jet skiing, parasailing and angling. The opportunities for these thrilling activities are a major reason the destination is swamped by tourists all round the year.
