Frequently Asked Questions
What time of day do the flights take place?
Balloon flights usually take place within two hours of dawn and around two hours before dusk, as this is when the winds are most stable. Times do vary throughout the year but basically the meeting times are around 5.30 am and 4:00 pm. We suggest morning flights as there are less chances of flight cancellation as compare to the evening flights.
What is the duration of the Balloon flight? &How high does the balloon fly?
One should allocate approximately 3 hours for the whole experience, wherein the actual time in the air is approximately one hour. A balloon flies at different heights, we fly between 800 feets to 1200 feets above the ground level.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable for ballooning?
Safety of the guests on board is paramount. It is important to keep in mind that Hot Air Ballooning globally is weather dependent, of which the conditions here in India are consistently very good. Guest will be informed if the weather is unsuitable. If so is the case, you simply re-book for another convenient day. Alternatively, you will receive full refund of your booking amount.
How many people will be in the balloon?
On a standard flight you will join a group of 4 to 8 people depending upon the balloon that you are flying in.
Is there an age or weight restriction? Is pregnant woman allowed to take hot air balloon flight?
There is no upper age limit; passengers must be able to stand for atleast one hour. Children must be at least 5 years of age and 1.5 m tall (to see over the sides of basket). Pregnant ladies are not allowed to take hot air balloon rides.
Where do we fly from? What is the take off location?
Hot Air Ballooning is weather dependent, In Jaipur Most of our flights are launched from the majestic Amber Fort and around area but we can promise that we will fly from Amber fort as it totally depends upon the wind direction and is the pilot’s decision considering the safety of the passengers. In Ranthambhore mostly we fly from the Helipad situated on the main artery road or the around area.
What do we see from the balloon? What is the experience of flying?
It is hard to describe in words. The entire process from start to finish – watching the inflation, the flight itself and landing makes it a life time experience. Again as Hot Air Ballooning is weather dependant and cannot be directed so the view from the balloon is different all the time. In general we fly over the forts, craggy mountains, green plains and villages but the most regular and the magnificent view is of people, village men and kids running after the balloon and the ladies dressed in colourful Rajasthani colors. The experience in short is peaceful, serene and incredibly beautiful.
