And for your information, the lake is known to be 25 million years old, and 636 km long, moreover the lake is known for its purity of its waters.

In the last 10 years, there is a boom of tourism in Frozen Baikal Lake Expedition due to which people from all around the globe are interested to take tours of the spectacular lake. Located on Olkhon Island, this treasure lake offers various exciting activities namely, ice swimming, visiting the view spot Kamen Cherskogo by gondolas, ice carting, hot air ballooning from the ice and more. You will also cross and explore the Maloe sea by hovercrafts, isn’t it interesting? You must carry your cameras at all times, as the place is remarkably beautiful and one of its kind. February to March is the best time to witness the marvellous landscape of this ultra-shining landscape made of ice, and also the activities are fruitful during this time.

ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrive in Lystvyanka
After your arrival in Irkutsk, Russia, you will meet one of our representative, who will transfer you to Lystvyanka, where you will check-in to your pre-booked hotel, namely Anastasia Crossfall or Lighthouse.

On reaching the hotel, settle your luggage and rest for a while after the long flight. Later, get ready, and head out for a scrumptious lunch. Post which, you will be briefed for the entire tour and then you will leave to experience the sightseeing tour. At first, you will visit the view spot Kamen Cherskogo by gondolas, which will take you approx. 1 hour of exploration. Next, you will explore the popular museums of Lystvyanka Baikal and Talsi. Then, you will head back to the hotel for dinner, and post which a small briefing will be given 20-30 min on the next day whereabouts.

 

Day 2: Lystvyanka to Maloe Sea | Exploration
Today after sun peeps out, you will get ready and head out for some flavoursome breakfast. At first, you will cross the Maloe Sea by hovercrafts, which is a strait in Lake Baikal, Russia. It separates the largest island of the lake, Olkhon Island, from the western shore of Baikal. Keep your cameras ready for beautiful views and amazing photo sessions. You might also have the opportunity for fire-cooked lunch on the lake. Also, take delight in the local cuisine.

On arrival at Maloe Sea, you will check-in at your pre-booked stay at village Sahiurta. Post dinner, you will be briefed for the next day sightseeing plans.

 

Day 3: Maloe Sea to Kurma Bay
In the morning after breakfast, you will leave for Kurma Bay for a walk and an amazing ice carting experience. Later, you will head back to the hotel for lunch and then have a little rest. In the evening, you will go to spend some quality time to Ogoy Lake, Enlightenment Pagoda and then to caves.

Later, you can try your hand at Russian spa. You will also be amazed to see the steam room which is built from ice. Then, you can take part in ice swimming, and proceed for dinner at Yurta traditional house. Post dinner, you will be briefed for the next day activities.

 

Day 4: Kurma Bay to Vessel Khuzhir | Shamanka Rock | Island Haranci Excursion
Today post breakfast, you will check-out from Yurta traditional house, and proceed towards vessel Khuzhir nestled on the Olkhon Island. Later, you will check-in at the hotel and then head out for Shamanka rock, which is one of the most prominent spots in Olkhon Island, and one of the nine holy places of Asia. The shamanic cave was the most revered holy place on the lake, for which shaman people made sacrifices and vows since their first appearance.

Following the Shamanka rock, you will take an excursion to Island Haranci, where you will also have the opportunity to experience Hot Air Ballooning from the ice. Then, get transferred to your hotel for a scrumptious meal of lunch. Also, explore the most northern point of Olkhon Island which is Cape Khoboy. Have dinner, and then doze off to sleep for good and refreshing morning.

 

Day 5: Kurma Bay to Ust-Barguzin
As soon as the sun peeps out, you will get ready for the breakfast, and then check out and get transferred to Uzuri locality or Hoboi cape. Moving to the eastern coast of Baikal via vessel Ust-Barguzin, you will reach the city of Ust-Barguzin. The urban city is nestled on the shore of Lake Baikal at the mouth of the Barguzin River, due to which the city offers amazing views.

Post having lunch, you will move to Yurta Traditional house campsite in Chivirkui bay. Later, you can spend time at hot streams bathing in Zmeyovaya Bay, following by a dinner in the Yurts, and later an overnight stay in the Yurtas on the ice.

 

Day 6: Ust-Barguzin to Baikalskoe village | Kotelnikovsky cape
Upon resuming the tour, after breakfast, you will set out again to explore the North along with east coast. Then, you will be crossing Baikal from east to west via the Baikalskoe village and then return back 40 km to the south along with the west coast to Kotelnikovsky cape. Do not worry as you will have experience people along with you and 2 rescue personnel as well. You will also have Trekol rescue vehicle and ATV Bobr with 2 rescue personnel.

Later have lunch on the lake, then check-in at your hotel. You can spend time at leisure by taking pleasure in hot Baikal spring water pool. Later, you will be served with dinner, take delight in that and sleep for a good relaxation to your body.

 

Day 7: Reach Severobaikalsk city
This day begins with a scrumptious breakfast followed by leisure time at the pool of you wish to or else you can even lay by the poolside to read a book. Later, you will check-out and pack your bags as you will be moving to another place which is Baikalskaya residence nestled in Severobaikalsk city. You will have lunch, followed by a free time in which you can take pleasure in whatever way you like. Later, you will have a party, followed by a flavoursome dinner.

 

Day 8: Return Journey
After a leisurely breakfast, you will pack your bags as you will return back to your home. You will be transferred to your airport from where you will take the flight from Severobaikalsk to Irkutsk.
