There are lot of feelings and encounters in life which cannot be described in words. Taking a road trip through the Gata Loops of Manali – Leh Highway, crossing some of the highest motorable passes in the world, and riding through the Moonscapes of Leh- Srinagar Highway are few of those experiences which will leave you speechless!

We will start our Manali to Ladakh road trip from Manali, a beautiful hill station located perfectly in the Himalayas along the Beas River. We will head to Sarchu, where we will spend a night. After crossing the Gata Loops, we will spend a night at a surprise destination and it will be an amazing experience for you! Reach Leh and spend the days exploring the distinct culture of the place. The influence of Tibetan and Buddhist culture can be clearly seen here in the colourful Tibetan prayer flags, prayer bells, monasteries and monks. Spending a night at Pangong Tso will be an alluring experience. Take a camel ride in the sand dunes of Nubra Valley. Leave for Srinagar and admire the enchanting Moonscapes on the way. Itinerary:


Day 01: Manali
Arrive in Manali on your own from where we will start our road trip. Manali is one of the major hill stations in Himachal Pradesh and it is easily accessible through cities like Delhi or Chandigarh. One can also take a flight to Kullu and then a cab to Manali. Picturesque Manali has a lot to offer, explore the ancient Hadimba Temple and Vashisht which is known for its hot water springs. Check in to the hotel and spend the day exploring the markets and cafes of Manali.

 

Day 02: Manali – Sarchu (8 hours|222 kms|14,070 feet)
We will head to Sarchu today crossing the famous Rohtang Pass. Stop for few minutes to admire the Himalayan vistas. We will continue our journey through the quaint highway. After crossing Keylong and Jispa, we will finally reach our first high altitude pass Baralacha La at an altitude of 16,043 feet. We will reach Sarchu by late evening and spend the night there in camps.

 

Day 03: Sarchu - Leh

Day 04: Leh Cultural Tour
The distinct and blended culture of Ladakh will surely fascinate you! Spend the day exploring the monasteries and palaces of the Leh. The warmth of the people will make your experience memorable.

 

Day 05: Leh – Pangong Tso (5 hours|160 kms|14270 feet)
We will head to the pristine and ever changing Pangong Tso today. It is the gem of Ladakh region. Passing through Chang La, the third highest motorable mountain pass in the world, we will reach the enchanting Pangong Lake that will allure you with its changing colours from dusk to dawn. Spend the night under a blanket of starry sky.

 

Day 06: Pangong Tso – Leh
You will be stunned to see the sunrise by the lake today! It will leave you awestruck! Spend some time by the lake before we leave for Leh. Spend the evening at Leh and take a stroll in the market.

 

Day 07: Leh – Nubra Valley (8 hours|130 kms|18379 feet)
Today we will leave for Nubra Valley, one of the most scenic places in Ladakh. We will cross Khardung La Pass, said to be the highest motorable pass in the world. You will be able to spot the Indus Valley and ridges of Zanskar Valley. Nubra valley is the best place to spot the endless galaxies at night. Spend the night at Nubra Valley.

 

Day 08: Nubra Valley – Leh
Wake up to a golden sunrise amidst the Himalayas in Nubra Valley. The highest cold desert in India will leave you mesmerised with its surreal landscapes. Spot the rare double humped Bactrian camel. Visit the Diskit Monastery to see the giant Buddha statue with the backdrop of snow clad mountains. Reach by late evening and spend the night at Leh.

 

Day 9: Leh – Kargil (245 kms/ 8 hours)
We will leave for Kargil through the beautiful moonscapes of Lamayuru. Visit the Magnetic Hill which defies gravity. Reach kargil by evening and spend the night there.

 

Day 10: Kargil – Srinagar (204 kms/ 6 hours)
We will cross the scenic Zoji La Pass & Drass, the second coldest inhabited place on the world, and reach Srinagar by evening. Our amazing journey from Manali to Leh ends in Srinagar.
