Munnar, in the state of Kerala, is among the most beautiful hill stations in India. It is located at an approximate elevation of 5200 feet above sea level in the scenic Western Ghats mountain range. Anaerangal Camp in Munnar is a beautiful property, overlooking breathtaking Shola grasslands. You will be accommodated in cottages with thatched roofs for that simple and close-to-nature feel. All cottages have large beds with comfortable mattresses, attached bathrooms and large windows for you to gaze outside. At a short distance from the property is the Anaerangal Lake, from where the site takes its name. There is a large open gazebo inside the campus, where you may sit back, relax and enjoy your meals. While camping at Munnar, you can engage in loads of activities to make your stay here memorable. You could trek to the peak of a nearby mountain, locally called Phantoms Head. Cycling along the winding mountain roads, past lush tea estates and high mountains, is another exciting activity to engage in here. You could take your bikes along Anaerangal Lake or through some of the tougher trails in the mountains for that added bit of excitement. Hiking through spice gardens, where they grow cardamoms and peppers is another marvellous plan. You could learn about the lives of local farmers and treat your noses to the fragrance of these spices. Ask the staff of Anaerangal Camp in Munnar to arrange a Jeep for you to travel to Kolukkumalai, which is among the highest tea plantations on earth. Taking a walking tour through these tea estates is another good way to see the beauty of the mountains and revel in its tranquil realm.
How to Reach:
The property is located at an approximate distance of 26 km from the main town of Munnar, and it is near the quaint little settlement of Suryanelli. Kochi city is roughly 145 km from the town, and it has numerous rail and air services to prominent Indian cities.
Season:
The town receives the largest influx of tourists between the winter months of October and March. During this time, the average daily temperature hovers around 20 degree Celsius. The days in winters are warm with temperatures around 25 degree Celsius and nights are cool with the temperatures near the 15 degree Celsius mark. For a peaceful vacation, you can even come in summers, which sees a reduced tourist activity here. The temperatures in summers too remain sufficiently cool.
