Many camping establishments here organise cycling tours on the well-made mountain roads in the region, trekking expeditions and birdwatching programmes.

Anaerangal Camp in Munnar is a beautiful property, overlooking breathtaking Shola grasslands. You will be accommodated in cottages with thatched roofs for that simple and close-to-nature feel. All cottages have large beds with comfortable mattresses, attached bathrooms and large windows for you to gaze outside. At a short distance from the property is the Anaerangal Lake, from where the site takes its name. There is a large open gazebo inside the campus, where you may sit back, relax and enjoy your meals. The food served here is a rich selection of local dishes, prepared by expert chefs. Members of local communities make up the staff here, and they will provide you with important information about the area.

Cycling along the winding mountain roads, past lush tea estates and high mountains, is another exciting activity to engage in here. You could take your bikes along Anaerangal Lake or through some of the tougher trails in the mountains for that added bit of excitement. Hiking through spice gardens, where they grow cardamoms and peppers is another marvellous plan. You could learn about the lives of local farmers and treat your noses to the fragrance of these spices. Ask the staff of Anaerangal Camp in Munnar to arrange a Jeep for you to travel to Kolukkumalai, which is among the highest tea plantations on earth.
