You trek starts from Rumsu Base Camp in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. The trail follows the ridge, which divides the Beas River by creating the Malana stream to the right. You walk to the quaint town of Naggar and while there, admire the 500 years old Naggar Castle and the temples which date back to the 11th century! The trail is really fascinating! The remote village is full of raw beauty. The Chanderkhani Dhana and Kunnu Pass trek is a perfect weekend getaway which will fill your heart with such adventurous memories that will keep coming to your mind for a long time. Day 01 - Rumsu Base Camp
Arrive at Rumsu Base Camp on your own. You can take shared taxi from Naggar or you can choose to trek up from Naggar to Rumsu Base Camp. On the way you have the opportunity to explore fascinating places and remote villages. Explore the 500 years old Naggar castle and the temples surrounding it. The castle is now converted into a heritage hotel. The Gowrishankar Temple is said to be from the 11th century! It will be really bewitching to see these historic masterpieces! The trails take you to the Tripura Sundari temple which is a fine example of Pahadi style temple. If time allows, you can take a look at the unique Roerich Art Gallery. Upon reaching the base camp you will be briefed about the trek. The orientation will be conducted by the chief organizer. The orientation will cover information like rucksack packing, marching/walking technique and general awareness about the trek route. If you trek up from Naggar your acclimatization walk is done. If not then you will take the acclimatization walk from Rumsu to Naggar and back by the evening. Have dinner and stay overnight at the camps.
Day 02 - Trek to Ghan Kulhadi Campsite (4-5 Hours)
Have your breakfast at the camps. After breakfast start trekking to your next destination. Pass through the woodland of pine, fir, oaks, and chestnuts tree. After climbing up the steep trail of 4 - 5 hours you will reach the Ghan Kulhadi Campsite. Admire the amazing view of Kullu Valley beneath you. Stay overnight at the camps.
Day 03 - Trek to Chaklani Campsite (4-5 Hours)
Have your breakfast and start trekking to Chaklani campsite. The initial trail is steep but gradually it becomes easy. At 10,700 feet, enjoy the enchanting views of Kullu Valley and the dazzling peaks in the Dhauladhar Ranges like Ali Ratna, Friendship Peak, Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba, and Tiger Teeth. Stay overnight at the campsite.
Day 4 - Chanderkhani and Dhanna Kunnu Pass
Today is the day to walk through heavens. Trek to the Chanderkhani and Dhanna Kunnu Pass is one of the most popular and magical trekking routes in the Kullu Valley at an altitude of 12000 feet. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the beautiful snow clad mountain peaks. It’s a sight to behold! You would never want to leave this place. Later, descend or slide down with necessary precaution and reach Chaklani campsite for overnight stay.
Day 05 - Chaklani Campsite to Rumsu Base Camp
Have an early breakfast and leave for Rumsu Base Camp. The descent will take around 3 - 4 hours. After reaching the base camp, have lunch and then continue towards your next adventure in the evening!
