Day 1 : Dehradun to Koti Kanasar to Saraswati (110 km | 3-4 Hrs. drive, 2 hr. trek | 3219 m)
You will start your journey early in the morning, by driving from Dehradun to Koti Kanasar temple. The road will take you through Vikas Nagar, Kalsi and Chakrata, giving you splendid views of dense rain forests, high peaks in the background and views of green meadows and patches of terrace farming downhill. On reaching the trek starting point, you will begin the trek to Saraswati. The trail will pass through beautiful variety of flora and fauna. The trail will go all the way till Kopti, which 2.5 km from Koti Kanasar. Then, a quick trek of 1 km will take you to the pretty campsite, Saraswati.
Day 2 : Saraswati to Vyas Point to Koti Kanasar and drive back to Dehradun (15 km | 5hr trek, 3 hr. drive | 2865 m)
In the early morning, after a scrumptious meal of breakfast, your trek will start by 5-6 am. Today, the trail you will follow, will pass through variety of trees like oak, pine and rhododendron forests. The trail is not very steep, and Vyas Shikhar is highest peak and from there you may get a superb view of Himalayas. The region has an abundance of lush greenery, and the region is very beautiful in summers and gets good amount of snow in winters. After reaching Vyas point, you will get a marvelous view of the Shivalik range. Some of the mountains you will be able to view are Bandarpunch(6,102 m), Swargarohini Massif(6,252 m), Kedarnath Peak(6,940 m), Trishul(7,120 m), Mt. Nanda Devi(7,816 m) and many more.
Spend some time admiring the view, and then get ready to hike back to Saraswati, where you will have a delicious lunch waiting for you. Once you reach Koti Kanasar, you will drive on to Dehradun, from where your return journey will begin.
