Take the experience of scuba diving at Netrani Island, when you take the plunge from the boat. In the evening, visit the famous Shiva temple, known for its gigantic statue and the towering gopuram. Itinerary:
Day 00: Mumbai to Murudeshwar
Take a train from Mumbai CST and arrive in Murudeshwar in the evening.
Day 01: Mumbai to Murudeshwar | Arrival in Murudeshwar | Scuba Instructions and Diving
Reach early morining and you will be transferred to the hotel to check-in. Freshen up and rest at the hotel for some time. Spend the entire day at leisure, relaxing at the hotel or exploring this little town.
In the evening, visit the famous temple of Lord Shiva, located right by the Arabian Sea. It is known for its towering 20-storey entrance tower called gopuram, and the gigantic idol of Lord Shiva. The Shiva statue, considered to be the largest of the deity in the world, stands 123 feet in height while the gopuram is roughly 249 feet tall. You can go to the top of the gopuram via lifts, and see the idol, sea and the town. Return to the hotel later in the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and stay overnight.
Day 02: Scuba Diving at Netrani Island
After enjoying your breakfast, reach the dive centre in the morning for an introduction and essential instructions pertaining to the activity. After an approximately 1-hour long theory briefing, depart for scuba diving at Netrani Island by boat. Netrani is a heart-shaped coral island in the Arabian Sea. Owing to the rugged terrain of the region, Netrani Island scuba diving is done from a boat anchored on its shores. The island is not open for tourists as the Indian Navy uses it for target practice from its vessels. During the diving trip, relish a scrumptious lunch on the boat. At 6:00 PM, end your scuba at Murudeshwar experience and take a train back to Mumbai.
Day 03: Back to Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai in the morning and continue your onwards journey.
