Have you ever wondered what life is like for the organisms living in the vast oceans or what it feels like to float among thousands of vibrant marine creatures? Whatever your answer may be, you can do the latter by taking the Open Water Course, Bali. If you are 10 years old or above, then you may take this course and learn a new, thrilling sport.

 

During this beginner-level course, you will learn to use the scuba equipment, and the basics of the activity. One of the most popular diving courses in the world; it certifies you to scuba dive at any place in the world. During this adventure, you will get to know why scuba diving is one of the most sought-after aquatic activities. The Open Water Course in Bali will also teach you crucial things that you need to know before actually going under water. This will be one of those experiences that you will cherish for a lifetime and find useful on various occasions.

 

ITINERARY:

 

Day 01: Training

In the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the diving centre. Upon reaching here, you will have to fill out the necessary papers, and produce a medical form attested by your doctor. After the paperwork, start the course with an interactive lesson, given by an experienced instructor. The person will teach you the essential skills, required for a safe and comfortable dive. Carefully go through the learning material provided to you during the class and enjoy watching the demonstrational DVD with other students. For non e-learners, there will be fun quizzes to review their knowledge of the sport.

 

After this session, get ready for your first underwater experience. Following the theoretical class, you will use the scuba equipment in a swimming pool. In the evening, head back to the hotel to rest.

 

Day 02: Two Open Water Dives

This morning, get ready for an exciting day as you will have a real scuba diving experience in the ocean. Once you have spent enough time refreshing the skills learned in the pool the previous day, head out to the ocean. This will be a thrilling experience for you because during it, you will witness the underwater world of the ocean for the first time. Today, you will undertake the first two training dives, part of the Open Water Course, Bali. These dives usually take place in Sanur, which is close to the dive centre.

 

Known for its laid back atmosphere, Sanur is situated on the southern coast of Bali. This approximately 5-km long beach features lush tropical forests, reefs and breakwaters. Nearby is a fishing village that maintains the traditional charm of the place. During your training dives in Sanur, witness the reefs and intriguing marine animals found in the surrounding waters. After completing the dives, head back to the dive centre for a review of all the things you have learned till now. Post the review; takes the final exam, in which you will have to answer various questions related to the activity.

 

Day 03: Review Class | Two Dives and Certification

During the previous two days, you would have learned various new skills and gained a lot of theoretical knowledge, so it is important to review and refresh the information. Before you head out for the third and fourth dives in the ocean, attend a briefing and review session by an expert. Thereafter, head out towards the sea for the final two dives of the Open Water Course in Bali. During these two dives, make yourself comfortable with the underwater environment, and also witness a plethora of marine life.

 

The final two dips will take place either at the USAT Liberty shipwreck in Tulamben or near the reefs off Padang Bai. Liberty is the name of a cargo ship, used by the USA during the First World War. It was destroyed by a Japanese submarine, and since then lies in Tulamben. However, it caught the attention of scuba divers and nowadays serves as a famous site for wreck diving. Locate in eastern Bali, Padang Bai serves as a port for the ferries travelling to places like Lombok. This destination features a lively atmosphere and white, sandy beaches. In close proximity to the beaches, lie coral reefs that are ideal places to try your newly learned skills. Following successful dives here, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver.
