The Pangarchulla peak trek is an amazing climbing spot near the well-known Kuari pass. The Pangrachulla peak trek is approximately 15000 feet above the sea-level and you can find a lot of snow till late May. The difficulty level to climb the peak varies according to the month you choose. The best time to climb the Pangarchulla peak is from April to May. This trek will give you loads of expertise in trekking in Uttarakhand and will bring you a step closer to attempting more difficult treks in the Himalayas. Winters will be one of the best times to trek to the Pangarchulla peak as the snow makes the region look stunning

 

The expedition will begin from the picturesque hill station of Auli which is known for its ski slopes. Take in the beauty of the breathtaking views of mighty Nanda Devi from the Auli campsite. Start your trek to the Khullara base camp through thick forests, meadows and a small summit called the Gorson top. The trek to Pangarchulla peak will treat you with the best views of Himalayas. Some of the mighty peaks can be seen on the way like Nilkanth (11,398 ft), Narayan Parbat (10,244 feet), Mana peak (23,858 ft), Kamet (25,446 ft), Abi Gamin (24,130 ft), Nilgiri Parbat (8,652 ft), Rataban (14766 ft), Gauri Parbat (22,008 ft), Hathi Parbat (22,070 ft) and Dunagairi (23,182 ft). When you reach the top you will see the stunning peaks of Himalayas and confluence of many rivers. If you are lucky, you might spot the footprints of either the Himalayan Bear or Leopard.

 

ITINERARY:
 

Day 01: Haridwar – Joshimath (268 KM / 8 – 9 HRS) Guest House)
Arrive at Haridwar railway station by 7 am, and then be driven to Joshimath, about 268 km away. A long but fascinating journey along the rivers of Ganga and Alaknanda entails passing through Rishikesh, Dev Prayag, and Rudra Prayag. Relax in the evening and stay overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 02: Joshimath - Auli (2450m) - Tali (3200m) (Trek / 5 - 6 hrs)
Post breakfast, drive for around 5 kms to reach the starting point of the trek. Hike through the Auli meadows with Nanda Devi peak and other Himalayan giants in the backdrop. you will now pass through a forest known for its incredible birdlife. Heading out from the forest, you will reach Gurson's beautiful meadows only to step into another forest which is basically a huge collection of oaks, deodars, maple and chestnut trees. 

Reach Tali and camp here for the day. Overnight stay in tents. 

 

Day 03: Tali (3200m) - Kuari Pass (3650m) - Base Of Pangarchulla Peak - Tali (3650m) (Trek / 6 - 7 hrs)
Rise up to ascend to meadows and keep walking while documenting the scenic locales of Tali. The Kuari Pass trek will be completed in 3 hours. You have the option to not go to the actual pass and instead climb another point which has better views. Spend some time and later start walking towards the base camp for the climb to go to Pangarchulla peak. Behold a lovely sight of really famous Himalayan peaks such as Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, Neelkanth, Haathi-Ghodi, Kamet, Mana, Dronagiri, etc. After appreciating the stunning views, you will return back to Tali.

 

Day 04: Tali - Summit Of Pangarchulla Peak (4700m) - Khulara (3225m) (Trek / 8 - 9 hrs)
Wake up at 5 am and after breakfast, start climbing the mountain to reach the ridge at the top. There will be a few patches of rough terrain but if you are to set out early in the morning, you will get to walk on hard snow which is easily managed. The view at the break of the dawn is also sure to charm you and motivate you further. 
From this route to the summit, you will bear witness to a fantastic view of the big mountains including the likes of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Changbhang and many more. The views of the surrounding valleys are also beautiful. Once enough time is spent here enjoying the wonderful sight, you start walking down to Khulara. Overnight in tents.

 

Day 05: Khulara – Dhak Via Tugasi Village – Joshimath ( 30 Mins) Guest House
After a sumptuous breakfast, you start climbing down towards the road linking Joshimath to Niti-Malari valley. You will find yourselves in Dhak -a bustling marketplace shortly. you will again face a lot of scenic stretches of forests and villages on our way. You shall make stops at Tugasi and Karchi to immerse in the local culture a little. From Dhak you will drive to Joshimath where a hot shower followed by a sumptuous meal awaits you. Overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 06:  Joshimath - Haridwar (Drive / 280 km / 8 - 9 hrs)​
After breakfast drive back to Haridwar. Trip ends here.
