Tambdi Surla is situated at about 65 Km from the capital of Goa, Panaji. You have to trek through a dense forest to reach the Tambdi Surla waterfall. It was built by the Kadamba dynasty using weather-resistant grey-black basalt that was transported all the way, across the mountains, from the Deccan Plateau. Itinerary:
Day 1: Pune-Kulem
On this day, reach Pune railway station (platform number 3) at 3:00 PM. Board the Goa Express train to journey towards Kulem at about 4:35 PM. Enjoy your overnight journey to Kulem as you chat with your companions and enjoy a peaceful sleep.
Day 2: Kulem-Tambdi Surla-Madgaon
At 4:30 AM, you will arrive at the Kulem railway station. Head towards the base village, Sanguem, and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast. Your trek to Tambdi Surla waterfalls starts at 6:00 AM. Enjoy the gush of fresh air as you listen to the chirping of the birds. You will reach Tambdi Surla falls at about 8:00 AM. Enjoy the sight of the cascading milky-white waters amidst the lush green backdrop. After this, start descending and reach the base village. Pay a visit to Mahadev Temple located at the base village. At about 1:00 PM, leave for the guest house in Kulem. Feel rejuvenated as you settle in its beautiful surroundings and enjoy delicious food. Amble around the guest house and watch the calm backwaters and lush green trees. Your tour ends in the evening. If you are heading to Pune, catch 12779 / Goa Express Train at 4:30 PM. To reach Mumbai, you need to first travel to Madgaon via local transport by 5:10 PM and then board 12620 / Matsyagandha Express at 7:15 PM.
Day 3: Departure
On this day, you will reach Pune Junction (4:30 AM) or Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai (6:35 AM).
