From years, shepherds have been taking their flocks to Bugyals to graze, and these Bugyals are the best grazing grounds. The Barsu to Dayara Bugyal trek will take you through Barnala Bugyal, one of the highest meadows which have a stunning sunrise view.
Dayara Bugyal is among the few largest meadows in Uttarakhand. In winters, the Bugyal is covered with a blanket of snow that makes it more beautiful. The trek trail takes you through open and vast meadows and lush forests of Garhwal region. It is perfect for beginners and adventure enthusiasts. Imagine yourself sitting on the verdant meadows with the backdrop of snowy Himalayan peaks and with the views of magnificent Gangotri I, II, III, Srikanth, Rudregaira, Black Peak, Draupadi ka Danda, Srikanth, Deonli and many other unnamed Himalayan peaks. At an altitude of 12500, it will be like a dream come true.
The trek starts from Dehradun and takes you through Barsu, a small remote village in the Himalayas, to Barnala and Dayara Bugyals and back to Dehradun. It is a once in a lifetime experience and a must do trek for people who are in love with the mountains!

Day 01: Dehradun - Uttarkashi - Barsu (2100m) (Drive / 190 km) (6 - 7 Hrs)
Drive from Dehradun to Uttarkashi entails bustling but quaint village markets along the river banks of Bhagirathi and will end in Uttarkashi. Spend another hour or so to reach the village of Barsu from here. Once arrived, check into the guesthouse/lodge and relax. Overnight stay at the guesthouse/lodge.
Day 02: Barsu - Dayara Bugyal (3300m) (Trek / 5 - 6 Hrs)
After breakfast, we will start trekking to the meadows and the highlight of our trek- Dayara Bugyal. The natural and raw beauty of the place will leave you stunned. After a few steep ascents, we will walk straight into the Bugyal. We will pitch our tents at Dayara Bugyal and stay overnight.
Day 03: Dayara Bugyal - Bakriya Top (3200m) - Syari Bugyal (3200m) (Trek / 5 - 6 Hrs)
Wake up with renewed spirits to hike upto Bakriya Top, the highest point of this meaow. It lies at the edge of the meadow and provides a glorious sight of the Himalayas towards the north and towards the south, excellent views of underlying valleys await you. Spend some time here and later walk towards Syari Bugyal. Underneath your steps, lies a lush green meadow that spans the entire stretch.
Reach the campsite and relax for the evening. Overnight stay in the tents.
Day 04: Syari Bugyal - Surya Top (3700m) - Syari Bugyal - Barsu (Trek / 5 - 6 Hrs)
Wake up to another glorious morning in the meadows and start trekking to Surya top. It's a summit offering an ever-expansive view of the Himalayas with some of the most famous peaks such as Bandarpoonch (6350 m), Dropdi ka Danda (6420 m), Jaonli (6600 m), Srikanth, Gangotri I,II,III etc. Walk from Surya Top back to the ridge and return to the camp.
After lunch, head back to Barsu. Stay overnight in lodge at Barsu.
Day 05: Barsu - Uttarkashi - Dehradun (Drive / 190 kms ) (6 - 7 Hrs)
Leave early morning for Dehradun and reach by almost 2 pm.
A min of 4- 5 pax required to operate this trek on any preferred date of the trekkers.

Best time to go: April – October (except monsoon)
Total distance covered: 20 KMS
