Earlier, Bandhavgarh was used as a hunting ground by kings and now the natives of this region have come together to protect the diversity of flora and fauna in the region. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram gifted a fort near the National Park to his younger brother Lakshman, which is why Bandhavgarh translates to ‘Brother Fort’. Not much earlier, Bandhavgarh National Park was declared a Tiger reserve in 1993 under the Conservation Project. It houses various species - 22 mammals and 250 bird species - in a perfect ecosystem.
Wildlife Safari at Bandhavgarh National Park is a delight for wildlife photographers, animal adorers and nature lovers. With jeep safari tours available, tourists can have an encounter with wildlife. In Bandhavgarh National Park, you will get a chance to view unspoiled nature, which is also a perfect habitat for myriad birds and animals. The lush vegetation here is of high grasslands attractively dotted with Sal forest. Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival at Bandhavgarh National Park & Safari
On arrival at Jabalpur, you will be transferred to Bandhavgarh National Park via Private AC Transport. On reaching, check-in at the hotel, and keep your belongings. After resting for a while, and a post lunch, head-out for an afternoon safari. Take the tour of the reserve and get introduced to variety of flora and fauna found here.
In the evening, get back to the hotel to have tea and little snacks. Relax for the rest of the time or you can spend time with your family and friends. At night, take pleasure in a tasty dinner, and retire for the night.
Day 2 : Sightseeing in Safari
Today, you will be leaving for the Bandhavgarh National Park Safari early in the morning to catch a glimpse of some magnificent wild animals. An early morning safari increases the chances of spotting a tiger. You will also come across various other species of birds, animals and plants. Click pictures of the sunrise and animals, then head back to the hotel to get freshened up and have breakfast.
Relax for sometime and spend time with your friends or family. Leave for an afternoon safari after lunch. Carry your cameras, binoculars, water-bottle, sunscreen and a scarf to avoid dust. In the evening, get back to the hotel, and relish your snacks with a cup of tea. At night, indulge in a tasty meal and relax for a while before turning in.
Day 3 : Early Morning Safari & Check-out
Today morning, you will leave for an early safari to explore the left out regions of the Bandhavgarh National Park. Click pictures of the sunrise, various plants and animals. Then return back to hotel to freshen up and then proceed to check-out from the hotel. You will leave for Jabalpur via private vehicle to start your journey back.
